The WBT 0152 Ag Nextgen™ RCA connector is designed for premium analogue audio connections where accurate and consistently stable signal transfer is essential. Its minimalist signal conductors are made from fine silver, a material offering exceptionally high electrical conductivity. This makes the connector an outstanding choice for high-end interconnects, phono cables and professionally assembled audio cables.
The patented nextgen™ construction uses considerably less conductive mass than a conventional RCA plug. This helps minimise eddy currents and unwanted mass-storage effects, allowing fine detail, dynamics and spatial information to pass through the connection with exceptional transparency.
The central contact unit of the WBT-0152 Ag incorporates precision-made fine-silver signal conductors. The silver contact surfaces are passivated to provide optimum protection against oxidation and deterioration of the contact quality. Its transmission bandwidth of up to approximately 200 MHz places this connector well above conventional RCA plugs.
WBT's patented collet mechanism securely clamps the outer contact around the RCA socket. Its high and evenly distributed contact pressure creates a reliable mechanical connection while helping to minimise contact resistance. The two-piece clamping sleeve prevents the front ring from rotating while it is tightened, protecting the contact elements against torsional stress.
The slotted centre pin maintains firm spring pressure inside the RCA socket for a durable electrical connection. A Torx screw provides secure strain relief for the connected cable.
Sensitive analogue signals, particularly those from a turntable, require effective protection against electromagnetic interference. The conductive brass sleeve of the WBT 0152 Ag is connected to the negative contact to provide excellent EMC shielding. This makes the connector particularly suitable for high-quality analogue line-level and phono connections.
The generous cable entry accommodates audio cables with an outside diameter of up to Ø 10.8 mm. The WBT-0152 Ag is therefore an excellent solution for thicker or relatively rigid high-end cables. The electrical connections are soldered, with WBT recommending WBT-0800 silver solder for installation.
