The WBT 0102 Cu is a premium solder-type RCA plug designed specifically for high-quality analogue audio connections. Its patented nextgen™ construction, pure-copper signal conductor and excellent electromagnetic shielding make it an outstanding choice for building or upgrading interconnects and phono cables.
The Central Contact Unit uses a minimal amount of metal, substantially reducing unwanted eddy currents. Its one-piece high-purity copper signal conductor provides excellent conductivity, fast signal transmission and precise reproduction of fine musical detail. Nickel-free direct gold plating protects the contact surfaces against oxidation without adding an unnecessary intermediate layer to the signal path.
Effective protection against electromagnetic interference is particularly important for analogue connections and sensitive phono or microphone signals. The WBT 0102 Cu therefore uses a conductive brass clamping sleeve connected to the negative contact. This design provides excellent EMI shielding against interference from mobile phones, computers and other electronic equipment.
With a transmission bandwidth of up to 200 MHz, the WBT 0102 Cu performs far beyond conventional RCA plugs. Its wide bandwidth helps preserve signal integrity and prevents the connector from becoming an unnecessary limitation in a high-quality analogue audio system.
The patented WBT collet-chuck mechanism firmly clamps the outer contact onto the RCA socket. High, evenly distributed contact pressure creates a reliable mechanical connection while minimising contact resistance. The two-piece clamping sleeve prevents the front section from rotating while it is tightened, protecting the contacts and equipment socket against twisting forces.
The slotted, slightly sprung centre pin provides a secure and durable electrical connection. The clamping system also compensates for small dimensional differences between RCA sockets.
The WBT 0102 Cu accepts audio cables with an outside diameter of up to 9 mm. The conductors are soldered in place, while a Torx T.6 screw provides secure mechanical strain relief. WBT recommends using suitable silver solder and a Torx T.6 tool for optimum assembly.
