The WBT-0152 Cu is a premium nextgen™ RCA connector designed for the accurate and dependable transmission of analogue audio signals. Its pure copper signal conductors, excellent electromagnetic shielding and generous cable entry of up to 10.8 mm make it ideal for high-quality interconnects, phono connections and professionally assembled audio cables.
The central contact unit incorporates the distinctive nextgen™ technology developed by WBT. The amount of metal within the signal path is reduced to a practical minimum. This helps control eddy currents and unwanted mass-storage effects, while the pure copper conductors deliver excellent conductivity and fast, detailed signal transmission.
Low-level analogue signals from turntables, phono cartridges and microphones require effective protection from electromagnetic interference. The WBT-0152 Cu therefore features a conductive brass clamping sleeve connected to the negative contact. This construction provides effective EMI shielding against interference from computers, mobile phones and other electronic equipment.
With a transmission bandwidth of up to 200 MHz, the WBT-0152 Cu substantially exceeds the bandwidth of conventional RCA plugs and helps preserve the integrity of the audio signal.
WBT’s patented collet chuck mechanism clamps the outer contact securely around the RCA socket. Tightening the sleeve creates high and consistent contact pressure, delivering a stable mechanical connection and helping to maintain very low contact resistance.
The two-piece clamping sleeve ensures that its front section does not rotate while being tightened. This protects the contact elements from twisting forces and allows the connector to compensate for dimensional variations between RCA sockets.
The WBT-0152 Cu accepts cables with an outside diameter of up to 10.8 mm, making it suitable for relatively thick or rigid high-end audio cables. A Torx T.6 screw provides secure strain relief, while the electrical conductors are connected by soldering.
