Its nude spherical diamond has a radius of R 18 µm and is optimised for accurately tracking mono microgroove LP records. Do not touch the diamond or cantilever during installation. Check the tracking force after fitting the new stylus and set it to the recommended 1.8 g. Although this stylus also fits the 2M 78 cartridge body, its R 18 µm profile is intended for mono microgroove vinyl. Use the dedicated Ortofon 2M 78 replacement stylus with its wider tip for 78 rpm shellac records.
