Use this 65 µm stylus exclusively for 78 RPM shellac records. Conventional microgroove LPs and singles require a suitable microgroove stylus. Ortofon places the 2M 78 and 2M Mono in the same stylus interchangeability group. For true mono output, fit the stylus to a 2M 78 or 2M Mono cartridge body.
Switch off the turntable and carefully pull the old stylus assembly straight forwards. Fit the new stylus without touching the diamond or cantilever. The cartridge does not need to be realigned if its body has not been loosened or moved. Check the tracking force after installation and preferably set it to 1.8 grams.
