How to use the Ortofon alignment tool

1. Switch off the turntable and place the alignment tool flat over the platter spindle.
2. Carefully loosen the cartridge mounting screws so the cartridge can still be moved and rotated.
3. Gently lower the stylus onto the first marked null point.
4. View the cantilever at eye level and adjust the cartridge until the cantilever is parallel to the reference lines.
5. Repeat the procedure at the second null point. Continue making small adjustments until the cantilever is parallel at both positions, then tighten the screws and recheck the alignment.

Setup advice

Always align the cantilever rather than relying solely on the outside edges of the cartridge body. The cantilever may not be perfectly parallel to the housing.
