The Ortofon 2M Black Verso is the flagship of the 2M Series for headshells that require the cartridge to be secured from underneath. Its Nude Shibata diamond has a wide contact area with the groove walls, allowing it to retrieve an exceptional amount of fine information from a record. The slender Shibata profile contacts a large area of each groove wall. This enables the 2M Black Verso to follow subtle spatial cues and high-frequency information with precision. Before ordering, confirm that your headshell requires ½-inch bottom mounting. The Verso body is designed for screws inserted from underneath and differs from the standard 2M body and the low-profile 2MR housing. Align the cartridge accurately and set the tracking force to 1.5 g. The Ortofon Scale stylus pressure gauge provides a simple way to check this setting. Connect the cartridge to an MM phono input with a 47 kΩ load and 150-300 pF capacitance.
