The Ortofon 2M Bronze Premounted combines the high-performance 2M Bronze moving-magnet cartridge with a black Ortofon SH-4 headshell. The cartridge is already mounted and connected, eliminating the need to handle small mounting screws and delicate headshell wires. Its SME/bayonet connector allows quick installation on compatible tonearms, usually S-shaped models with a removable headshell.
The Nude Fine Line diamond has a slim contact profile that accurately tracks fine and high-frequency information in the record groove. The result is a detailed, spacious and well-balanced presentation. The 2M Bronze is therefore a compelling upgrade for listeners seeking greater refinement and control than the 2M Red or 2M Blue can provide.
The generator uses four coils and Ortofon’s split-pole-pin technology. Silver-plated OFC coil wire supports accurate signal transfer, an even frequency response and transparent reproduction. Its 5 mV output makes the cartridge suitable for standard MM phono inputs.
This Premounted version is designed for tonearms with an SME/bayonet connector and removable headshell. These are normally S-shaped tonearms. It is not directly compatible with straight tonearms that have a fixed headshell. Also check that your tonearm can accommodate the total weight of 16.7 grams.
Although the cartridge is already installed on the headshell, the tonearm balance, recommended tracking force of 1.5 grams and cartridge alignment must still be checked after fitting, following the turntable manufacturer’s instructions.
