WiiM Amp Ultra – powerful streaming amplification for modern hi-fi

The WiiM Amp Ultra combines a premium stereo amplifier, high-resolution music streamer, DAC, room correction and extensive television connectivity in one compact aluminium enclosure. With 2 x 100 watts into 8 ohms, an ESS ES9039Q2M DAC, HDMI ARC, Wi-Fi 6E and a bright 3.5-inch touchscreen, it becomes the intelligent centre of a modern hi-fi system.

Connect a pair of passive speakers and gain direct access to music streaming, internet radio, local music libraries and television sound. Operation is available through the WiiM Home App, touchscreen, multifunction rotary control or the included WiiM Voice Remote 2.

2 x 100 watts with advanced PFFB amplification

The WiiM Amp Ultra delivers 100 watts per channel into 8 ohms and 200 watts per channel into 4 ohms. This gives it the power required for a wide range of bookshelf, floorstanding, in-wall, in-ceiling and outdoor speakers with an impedance between 2 and 8 ohms.

Two TI TPA3255 Class-D amplifier chips are combined with Post-Filter Feedback technology. PFFB reduces the influence of the connected loudspeaker load and helps maintain a stable, controlled and accurate frequency response. The result is dynamic sound with firm bass, clear voices and fine detail, even at higher listening levels.

ESS ES9039Q2M DAC and high-resolution audio

Digital conversion is handled by the premium ESS ES9039Q2M DAC, supported by six TI OPA1612 operational amplifiers. The Amp Ultra supports bit-perfect playback up to 24-bit/192 kHz and provides a signal-to-noise ratio of at least 120 dB.

The modern DAC architecture, precise signal processing and low noise floor deliver a transparent and detailed presentation. Acoustic recordings, vocals, electronic music and dynamic film soundtracks are reproduced with clarity and control.

HDMI ARC for television, films and gaming

HDMI ARC allows sound from a compatible television to be sent directly to the WiiM Amp Ultra. Volume can normally be controlled with the television remote. The HDMI ARC and optical inputs support stereo PCM and Dolby Digital 5.1 up to 24-bit/192 kHz. DTS audio is not supported.

This makes the Amp Ultra suitable not only for music, but also as a high-quality stereo solution for films, television series and gaming without requiring a separate AV receiver or soundbar.

RoomFit™ correction and comprehensive equalisation

Every listening room affects sound quality. RoomFit™ analyses the acoustic behaviour of the room and corrects unwanted peaks, reflections and standing waves. This creates a more balanced frequency response and more accurate stereo imaging.

The WiiM Home App also provides 24 EQ presets, a 10-band graphic equaliser and a 10-band parametric equaliser. Separate settings can be saved for Wi-Fi, HDMI ARC, optical, Bluetooth and line input.

Spotify, TIDAL, Qobuz, Roon and multiroom

The WiiM Amp Ultra supports Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect, Qobuz Connect, Google Cast, Alexa Cast, DLNA and Roon Ready. The WiiM Home App also provides access to services such as Deezer, TuneIn, SoundCloud and internet radio. Availability may vary according to country and subscription.

The amplifier can be grouped with other WiiM products for synchronised multiroom playback. Integration with compatible Alexa and Google Cast devices is also supported.

Please note: the WiiM Amp Ultra does not support AirPlay 2 and cannot be grouped with Apple HomePods.

More detailed control is available through the free WiiM Home App. The included rechargeable WiiM Voice Remote 2 offers direct operation, preset buttons and voice control through a compatible service.

WiiM Amp Ultra, WiiM Amp Pro or WiiM Ultra?

The WiiM Amp Pro is a more affordable and compact streaming amplifier for systems that require less power and do not need a touchscreen. The Amp Ultra provides more amplifier power, uses the newer ESS ES9039Q2M DAC and includes a 3.5-inch display.

The WiiM Ultra is primarily a streamer, DAC and preamplifier without built-in power amplification for passive loudspeakers. The Amp Ultra is therefore the appropriate choice when streaming and speaker amplification are required in one unit.
