The Tonar 5988 is a solid rubber turntable mat designed to provide stable contact between a vinyl record and the platter. Measuring 298 mm in diameter and 3 mm thick, it is particularly suitable as a replacement for a worn, distorted or chemically degraded original rubber mat. Its grippy surface keeps the record securely in place, while the rubber helps damp unwanted vibration between the record and platter.

Check the diameter and thickness of your existing turntable mat before ordering. A different mat thickness changes the height of the record and may therefore affect the tonearm's vertical tracking angle. If your tonearm is height-adjustable, the VTA can be corrected when necessary. Do not use this mat on a turntable that the manufacturer specifies should be operated without a mat.
