Correct cartridge alignment is essential for accurate tracking of the record groove. The Tonar Protractor 4208 allows you to check and adjust the position of your turntable cartridge. Place the protractor over the turntable spindle and carefully lower the stylus onto the indicated reference point. Check whether the cartridge body is parallel with the grid lines. Repeat this check at the available reference points, moving or rotating the cartridge as required.
Switch off the turntable before starting the adjustment. Temporarily set the tracking force and anti-skating mechanism so the cartridge can be aligned safely. Handle the stylus with great care and never apply sideways pressure. After alignment, reset the tracking force and anti-skating according to the cartridge manufacturer’s recommendations.
