All IeGO products are manufactured entirely in-house. All copper-based connectors use Furukawa copper as the base material, unlike many competitors who use phosphor bronze or brass – materials that conduct significantly less than pure copper. The copper used is 99.99% pure Japanese "prime grade red copper," which is cleaned of impurities in an acid bath. The entire connector then undergoes a deep cryogenic treatment at -240°C for 20 hours. This reduces internal stresses in the material, increases conductivity, and improves hardness, ensuring that the contacts remain strong and do not bend.
The IeGo Schuko plug is made entirely of pure Furukawa copper and is hand-polished. The housing is made of a special type of PVC produced in Japan by General.
