The Furutech FI-11(Cu) is a high-performance IEC power connector designed for building premium mains cables or upgrading an existing power cable. This Cu version uses an unplated α (Alpha) treated phosphor bronze conductor, combining a carefully engineered electrical contact with Furutech's renowned build quality.
The FI-11(Cu) accepts power cables with an outside diameter of 6.6 to 16 mm and conductors up to 5.5 mm² / 10 AWG. This makes it an excellent choice for high-quality power cables used with amplifiers, DACs, streamers, CD players and other hi-fi components.
The Furutech FI-11(Cu) uses an unplated phosphor bronze conductor. Its conductive components undergo Furutech's α (Alpha) treatment. Furutech's Alpha Process combines cryogenic treatment and demagnetisation to optimise the properties of its conductive materials.
As the Cu version does not use an additional gold or rhodium plating layer, it is an interesting option for enthusiasts who specifically prefer an unplated contact material when constructing a high-quality audio power cable.
A high-quality power connector depends on more than its contact material. The FI-11(Cu) features a nylon/fibreglass front body and a durable polycarbonate shell. Secure cable retention helps provide a stable mechanical installation and reduces strain on the internal electrical connections.
