The WBT-0681 Cu nextgen™ Sandwich Spade is a premium speaker-cable terminal designed to provide a dependable connection between a loudspeaker cable and binding post. The connector’s performance is based on WBT’s distinctive sandwich construction. An elastomer vibration damper and non-ferromagnetic metal cap create even and consistently high contact pressure. This construction helps suppress mechanical vibration, airborne vibration, contact microphonics and magnetostriction.
Four accurately formed contact points on the underside of the fork provide precise contact with the binding post. This supports dependable signal transmission, especially when dealing with high currents or very low signal voltages.
The signal conductor is manufactured from pure copper. WBT protects the copper against oxidation with nickel-free 24-carat direct gold plating applied using its PlasmaProtect™ process. As there is no nickel barrier between the copper and gold, the signal path remains non-ferromagnetic.
The WBT-0681 Cu is engineered for a professional solder-free crimp connection. A crimped cable end is secured by two self-locking Torx screws. This dual-screw system creates a dependable electrical contact while also providing effective strain relief.
The connector accepts crimped conductors up to 10 mm² or 7 AWG. WBT recommends a tightening torque of 0.5 Nm for the Torx screws. For optimum results, use a suitable cable-end sleeve and professional crimping tool.
