The WBT 0681 Ag nextgen™ Sandwich Spade is a premium loudspeaker connector designed for audiophiles and professional cable builders who require a secure connection with exceptionally low contact resistance. Its 8 mm fork fits many high-quality binding posts used on loudspeakers and amplifiers.
The signal conductor is manufactured from fine silver. WBT’s low-mass nextgen™ construction uses conductive material only where it is essential for signal transmission. This helps minimise unwanted eddy currents and magnetic interference.
An elastomer vibration damper is positioned between the silver signal conductor and a non-ferromagnetic steel cap. This patented sandwich design produces consistent contact pressure while suppressing mechanical vibration, contact microphonics and magnetostriction.
Four accurately formed contact points on the underside of the fork provide a stable interface with the binding post. The construction minimises transition resistance and supports reliable signal transmission, particularly at high currents and low signal voltages.
The speaker cable is secured using the WBT double Torx screw system. Two self-locking Torx screws create a strong electrical connection and effective strain relief. The connector accepts crimped cable ends with a cross-section of up to 10 mm².
The fully insulated body meets the relevant CE and IEC safety requirements. Red, white or black marking rings provide clear channel or polarity identification. The WBT-0488 Torx T6 key is recommended for installation.
