The WBT-0610 Cu is a high-quality nextgen™ banana plug designed to create a reliable and permanently stable connection between a speaker cable, amplifier and loudspeaker. Its signal conductor is made from pure copper and features nickel-free 24-carat direct gold plating. This protects the copper against oxidation without adding a magnetic nickel layer to the signal path.
WBT's mass-reduced nextgen™ principle uses only the amount of conductive metal that is functionally required. This construction is intended to reduce unwanted eddy currents and mass-storage effects. The WBT-0610 Cu is therefore purpose-built for clean and accurate signal transmission in high-quality audio systems.
The contact pin consists of three segments. Turning the central spindle causes these segments to expand and lock firmly inside the terminal. This creates consistently high contact pressure and maintains a very low contact resistance of less than 0.5 mΩ.
The locking mechanism prevents a loose or unstable connection and makes the plug an excellent choice for premium amplifiers, power amplifiers and loudspeakers equipped with standard 4 mm terminals.
The WBT-0610 Cu is designed for solder-free crimped cable ends with conductor cross-sections up to 10 mm² or 7 AWG. WBT's double Torx screw system securely fixes the crimped cable end. The second screw provides strain relief, preventing mechanical forces from acting directly on the electrical connection.
For the best result, suitable WBT cable-end sleeves and a professional crimping tool are recommended. The recommended tightening torque for the Torx screws is 0.5 Nm.
The angled cable entry guides the speaker cable naturally downwards. This prevents excessive bending and reduces the installation depth required behind the equipment. Full insulation and the integrated safety pin make the connector touch-safe and compliant with applicable CE and IEC requirements.
