The WBT-0610 Ag is a premium nextgen™ banana plug developed for terminating high-quality speaker cables. Its low-mass signal conductor is made from fine silver and protected by a directly applied platinum layer. No magnetic nickel intermediate layer is used, helping to keep unnecessary magnetic materials out of the signal path.
The WBT-0610 Ag is designed for high-end audio systems where dependable contact, low contact resistance and long-term mechanical stability are essential. This banana plug is supplied individually.
WBT's nextgen™ principle reduces the amount of conductive metal to the functional minimum. The fine-silver element carries the audio signal, while high-quality non-conductive materials perform most of the mechanical functions. This construction helps minimise unwanted eddy currents and mass-storage effects within the connector.
Turning the central spindle causes the three segments of the contact pin to expand inside the binding post. This securely locks the plug in position. The resulting consistently high contact pressure provides a stable connection and permanently low contact resistance.
The signal conductor is manufactured from highly conductive fine silver. A nickel-free platinum layer is applied directly to its surface, protecting the silver against oxidation and supporting dependable long-term contact quality.
The WBT-0610 Ag is designed for solder-free crimp termination. One Torx screw secures the crimped cable end, while a second screw provides strain relief. It accepts speaker cables with conductor sizes up to 10 mm² or 7 AWG. Torx T.6 tooling is required for installation.
The angled cable entry guides the speaker cable naturally downwards, reducing bending stress on both the cable and connector. Its fully insulated body and integrated Safety Pin help prevent accidental insertion into a mains socket. The connector therefore complies with the applicable CE and IEC safety requirements.
