Little Feat was founded by the late, great Lowell George and created music that was loose, funky, literary, and impossible to categorize. Sailin’ Shoes was released in 1972 and captured the band at the very moment their legend was beginning to take shape – a blend of sharp storytelling and swampy grooves that defined the cool factor of the early 1970s. From Willin’ and Easy To Slip to the swaggering title track, it is a masterclass in Southern Californian songwriting with a touch of Louisiana. These songs established Little Feat’s legend as one of rock’s most distinctive voices. Produced by Tod Templeman, the album was voted number 469 in the third edition of Colin Larkin’s All Time Top 1000 Albums.
