FiiO, a well-known audio company, recently released the K9. This desktop DAC and headphone amp is designed to bridge the gap between the popular K7 and the high-end K9 Pro. The K9 uses two ES9068AS DACs and a THX AAA 788+ amplifier, giving it an extraordinary 1% undistorted power output of up to 780mW into 300Ω and up to 2000mW into 32Ω. This makes it suitable for driving both low and high impedance headphones.
Another feature of the K9 is the six-stage audio circuit, which is similar to the higher-end desktop DAC/Amp, the K9 Pro. This fully balanced design helps reduce crosstalk and produce a more authentic sound performance. The K9 also features dual clock management technology, easily handling up to 768kHz/32bit PCM and DSD512 audio decoding.
FiiO has also put a lot of effort into powering the K9, with separate power supplies for the digital and analog sections, a linear transformer coupled to 4 massive 4700uF long-lasting high-capacity capacitors, and stabilized and filtered power in the audio circuit. This ensures abundant power and excellent sound performance.
In addition to these features, the K9 also has a QCC5124 Bluetooth chip, support for LDAC/aptX HD/aptX Adaptive Bluetooth formats, and professional PEQ (Parametric Equalizer). There are also three gain levels, multiple intelligent security systems, and numerous inputs and outputs. With all these features, the K9 can satisfy most audiophile needs.
