Furutech LAN-8 NCF Plus: precision CAT8 cable for streaming systems

The Furutech LAN-8 NCF Plus is the latest evolution of Furutech’s CAT8 Ethernet cable, developed for demanding audio streaming installations and high-performance data networks. It retains the proven foundation of the LAN-8 NCF while introducing a revised connector assembly intended to improve shielding, mechanical stability and connection consistency. The cable is aimed at music enthusiasts and critical listeners building a reliable link between routers, switches, network servers, NAS storage, streamers and network players, particularly where several digital components operate close to power supplies and other potential sources of interference.

Its internal design uses solid silver-plated α-OCC copper conductors combined with an S/FTP shielding structure. Each twisted pair is shielded, while an additional overall screen helps reduce electromagnetic interference, radio-frequency noise and crosstalk within complex network environments. CAT8 performance provides support for data rates up to 40 Gbps and bandwidth up to 2000 MHz, offering substantial headroom for current music-streaming and file-transfer requirements. The Plus model features a newly developed gold-plated copper RJ45 connector housing with 24-karat gold-plated contacts, supporting secure contact, robust cable termination and more complete shielding around the connection point.

Furutech incorporates its Nano Crystal² Formula material into the connector design to help control static charge and unwanted mechanical resonance.
