If every great artist has an underrated gem in their discography, then it is “Mirage” for Fleetwood Mac. After the experimental ambitions of “Tusk”, “Mirage”, released in 1982, documents the band's return to simplicity. To achieve this, Fleetwood Mac had to virtually re-form, because the recording sessions for “Mirage”, which took place at the legendary “Château D'Hérouville” in France, were anything but easy due to various internal disputes. The result is unimpressed: sugar-sweet melodies, nimble rhythms and passionate vocals let the band ride the wave of success again! With three top 25 singles in the US, “Mirage” topped the top 200 album charts for over five weeks, earned double platinum and was very well received by the public and the press – on both sides of the Atlantic.
Mobile Fidelity's numbered 2LP set has been lovingly remastered from the master tapes and presents “Mirage” for the first time in a stunning reference sound which, with its attention to detail and dynamics, deserves the same audiophile place as “Rumors”! The album was manufactured at Fidelity Record Pressing in California on 180-gram vinyl, cut at 45 RPM and comes in a luxurious Stoughton Printing gatefold cover.
