“The Exciting Wilson Pickett”, released in 1966, was the third album by R&B and soul singer Wilson Pickett. It reached number 3 on the U.S. Billboard R&B Album Charts and number 21 on the Pop Album Charts, making it the most successful studio album of Pickett’s career.
During the production of the album, Pickett ended his collaboration with Stax Studios in Memphis, Tennessee, where he had recorded his first singles, and moved to Fame Studios in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, where he would record over the next two years.
