A legendary live recording by The Who

Live At Leeds was recorded on 14 February 1970 at the University of Leeds Refectory. Roger Daltrey, Pete Townshend, John Entwistle and Keith Moon were performing at the height of their powers, combining controlled musical precision with an almost unrestrained level of energy.

Pete Townshend's powerful guitar playing, John Entwistle's inventive bass lines, Keith Moon's explosive drumming and Roger Daltrey's distinctive vocals create a formidable live sound. The original six-track album sequence

Mastered direct to DSD by Chris Bellman

Chris Bellman used the original analogue master tapes for this Hybrid Stereo SACD. Mastering was completed at Bernie Grundman Mastering, with the analogue source material transferred directly to the high-resolution DSD format.

This careful mastering provides an open stereo image, powerful dynamic contrasts and a natural reproduction of guitars, drums, bass and vocals. Subtle details from the live recording remain clearly audible while the raw power of the performance is fully preserved.

What is a Hybrid SACD?

A Hybrid SACD contains two separate information layers. The conventional CD layer can be played on almost every standard CD player. The premium SACD layer contains a high-resolution stereo signal in the DSD format and requires an SACD player or a compatible universal disc player.

This allows a Hybrid SACD to combine broad playback compatibility with the higher resolution, dynamics and refinement of the SACD format. A standard CD player automatically reads the CD layer, while a compatible SACD player provides access to the high-resolution DSD layer.
