Originally released in 1976, Takin' It to the Streets marks a pivotal moment in the history of the Doobie Brothers. It is the first album on which singer and keyboardist Michael McDonald plays a defining role. His soulful voice, layered harmonies and piano playing broaden the band's familiar rock sound with elements of soul, R&B, gospel and West Coast rock.

The release is sourced from the original analogue master tapes, pressed at Fidelity Record Pressing in California and housed in a premium Stoughton gatefold jacket.

Michael McDonald's arrival helped the Doobie Brothers move in a new musical direction without losing the band's distinctive identity.
