The AudioQuest PowerQuest 505 is a power conditioner that can be mounted in a rack or placed free-standing in a hi-fi system. This PowerQuest 505 utilizes AudioQuest's comprehensive approach to AC power conditioning, addressing noise in a linear manner to provide industry-leading noise cancellation over a wide frequency range (better than -22dB).

The PowerQuest 505 provides linear noise cancellation, including differential mode filtering (30 kHz - 1 GHz), to address asymmetric noise already present on the power line or fed back through electronic devices and components. Additionally, ultra-linear noise cancellation is achieved by adding Common-Mode filtering (30 kHz - 100 MHz) to address symmetrical noise, which is usually picked up by the AC line, neutral and ground cables.

In terms of protection, the PowerQuest 505 is equipped with non-sacrificial overvoltage protection and automatic shutdown under extreme voltage. If excessive surge voltage is detected on the incoming AC line for more than a quarter of a second, the circuit will immediately activate a high current relay, shutting off AC power to all PowerQuest outlets. This activates the red LED on the front panel as a warning for the overvoltage protection. Once the problem is resolved or the wiring is repaired, the circuit automatically turns back on, giving you peace of mind that your valuable connected equipment is being protected.
