The Dark Side Of The Moon, originally released in 1973, is one of the most influential concept albums in rock history. Pink Floyd combines immersive sound effects, synthesisers, guitars and thought-provoking lyrics about time, greed, mortality, conflict and mental pressure into one continuous musical experience.
This premium release from Analogue Productions reissues the acclaimed SACD mastering created for the album’s 30th anniversary in 2003. The 5.1 surround mix was created by James Guthrie. Stereo and 5.1 mastering was completed by Doug Sax and James Guthrie, assisted by Joel Plante and Gus Skinas. Gus Skinas also handled the DSD authoring.
The hybrid disc offers three playback options. A compatible SACD player provides access to the high-resolution DSD stereo programme and the immersive 5.1 surround mix. Its separate CD layer can also be played on a conventional CD player.

A stereo SACD player provides access to the high-resolution DSD stereo programme. A multichannel SACD player connected to a suitable 5.1 system unlocks James Guthrie’s dedicated surround mix. On a conventional CD player, the disc automatically plays its standard stereo CD layer.
Please note: a standard CD player can only access the CD layer. DSD stereo and 5.1 surround require a player that specifically supports SACD. This edition uses the 2003 SACD mastering and is not the 2023 50th Anniversary remaster.
