The Synergistic Research Master Fuse 6.3 × 32 mm is the reference model in the Synergistic Research fuse range. According to the manufacturer, it was developed for maximum resolution, dynamics, speed, impact and a more expansive soundstage. The Master Fuse is intended for targeted use rather than wholesale replacement. Synergistic Research recommends starting with one, or at most two, Master Fuses in most audio systems.

Synergistic Research recommends starting with one Master Fuse near the beginning of the signal path, such as in a music streamer, CD player, DAC or phono stage. Placement in a preamplifier or power amplifier can then be considered. In a system with multiple sources, fitting the Master Fuse to the preamplifier may affect all connected sources.
Important: completely switch off the equipment and disconnect it from the mains before opening the fuse holder. Use only the dimensions, current rating, blow characteristic and all other electrical specifications prescribed by the equipment manufacturer. Never install a higher-rated fuse or bypass the fuse holder. If in doubt, have the replacement carried out by a qualified service technician.
Yes. According to Synergistic Research, the fuses are directional. When viewing the fuse, the manufacturer recommends a current direction from left to right. If the current direction inside the component is unknown, both orientations can be compared by listening. Synergistic Research considers the orientation producing the most detailed presentation to be preferable.
Always switch off the equipment completely and disconnect it from the mains before removing or reversing the fuse.
Yes. Synergistic Research states that the Master Fuse has a settling period and that the first 200 to 300 operating hours are the most important. Its sonic presentation may gradually stabilise during this period.
The manufacturer recommends starting with one or two Master Fuses in most systems. Begin near the start of the signal path, such as in a streamer, CD player, DAC or phono stage. The preamplifier and power amplifier can then be evaluated. Add only one fuse at a time so that the result in each component can be assessed properly.
