This sought-after Soundroom demo single was originally released by Classic Records. It features two brilliant pieces from one of the most classic jazz and audiophile titles of all time, “Satchmo Plays King Oliver”. Side 1 features the track “St. James Infirmary”, while Side 2 features “I Ain’t Got Nobody”, cut at 45 RPM. The Analogue Productions reissue was mastered by Bernie Grundman.
“Satchmo Plays King Oliver” is Armstrong’s tribute to the man who helped shape his trumpet style in New Orleans and whose invitation to join his “Creole Jazz Band” in Chicago brought him into the spotlight: Joe Oliver.
