Little Feat was founded by the late, great Lowell George and created music that was loose, funky, literary and impossible to categorize. With “Dixie Chicken”, the band’s third album, released in 1973 on Warner Bros. Records, Little Feat reached its creative peak. This was where the band found its signature sound: refined, soulful and irresistibly funky. The title track radiates Southern charm, “Two Trains” captivates with its hypnotic rhythm, and “Fat Man In The Bathtub”combines humor and groove in a way only Lowell George could. As a milestone of 1970s rock and funk, “Dixie Chicken” finally receives the sonic treatment it deserves. The album was voted number 563 in Colin Larkin’s All Time Top 1000 Albums. The cover artwork was created by illustrator Neon Park and is a reference to a line from the album’s third track, “Roll Um Easy”.
