Swiss Movement by Les McCann & Eddie Harris is one of the defining live albums of soul jazz. Recorded on 21 June 1969 at the Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland, the performance blends jazz with gospel, blues, soul and funk. The irresistible groove of Compared to What became one of the album's defining moments.

The combination of pianist and vocalist Les McCann with tenor saxophonist Eddie Harris created an exceptionally spontaneous and energetic performance. McCann's gospel- and soul-rooted piano and vocals are matched by Harris' expressive tenor saxophone and a powerful rhythm section.
Trumpeter Benny Bailey, bassist Leroy Vinnegar and drummer Donald Dean complete the line-up. Their musical interaction and the immediate atmosphere of the festival stage make Swiss Movement an outstanding document of late-1960s soul jazz.

A Hybrid SACD contains two separate layers. The standard Red Book CD layer can be played on virtually any conventional CD player, while the high-resolution DSD layer requires an SACD-compatible player. This gives the disc excellent compatibility while allowing an SACD system to access the high-resolution stereo programme.
