A legendary Proprius recording

During the 1970s, the Swedish Proprius label earned an outstanding reputation for remarkably realistic and natural-sounding recordings. Laudate! was recorded on 4 and 5 February and 6 June 1978 by Bertil Alving, who was also responsible for the renowned Cantate Domino. Alving considered Laudate! his finest recording for Proprius.

The seven compositions come from the Düben Collection, an important collection of seventeenth- and eighteenth-century music. Accessible Baroque repertoire, a refined chamber choir and period instruments combine to create a spacious and highly vivid listening experience.
