L’Art du Son LP Cleaner is a concentrated fluid for wet cleaning vinyl and shellac records. Dilute it with distilled or demineralised water before use. The 100 ml bottle produces approximately 5 litres of cleaning solution. Use it for manual cleaning or with a suitable vacuum record cleaning machine. Thoroughly removing the fluid after cleaning also carries away the loosened dirt, preparing your records for their next play.

Mix 1 part concentrate with 50 parts water. The guideline is 20 ml concentrate per 1 litre of distilled or demineralised water. The table shows the water to add, not the final volume.

Shake before use. Prepare small batches where possible and do not use the concentrate undiluted.
Vacuum record cleaning machine: suitable if the machine manufacturer permits this fluid. Apply the solution separately and do not store it in the internal cleaning-fluid reservoir. Follow the machine instructions.
Manual cleaning: rinse thoroughly afterwards. Simply applying the solution and letting it dry is not a complete cleaning process.
Manual cleaning bath: this method is described in the L’Art du Son instructions. Also check your machine’s requirements. Replace used bath fluid after each cleaning day and rinse records with distilled water before drying.
Ultrasonic cleaner: the instructions advise against this use. Excessive foaming may damage the machine. Choose a fluid specified for your ultrasonic cleaner.
Keep the concentrate and mixed solution cool and dark, preferably in a clean, dark-coloured glass bottle. The formula contains no preservatives, so prepare only what you expect to use in the foreseeable future.
White particles that disperse when shaken are part of the formula. Larger grey flakes can indicate degradation; replace the mixed solution if these appear.

Cleaning may reduce clicks and background noise caused by dirt, but cannot repair scratches or worn grooves. The number of records you can clean depends on your method and fluid consumption.
