"The Well" is the title of this Jennifer Warnes album from 2001. It had been nine years since "The Hunter" and Ms. Warnes was dissatisfied with her record company and decided to produce an album on her own account, which she had had in mind for a long time. It should not be about catchy pop melodies, but about quieter and more emotional songs that tell little stories from life and carries the profound images of these songs with enormous composure.
The inspiration for this album was a visit to Jacob's Well in Texas. This "well" is the opening of an underground cave system with a powerful outpouring of fresh water, designated by early Native American peoples as a sacred place of rebirth.
