All IeGO products are manufactured entirely in-house. Furukawa copper is used as the base material for all copper connectors, unlike many competitors who use phosphor bronze or brass – materials that are significantly less conductive than pure copper. The copper used by IeGO is 99.99% pure Japanese "prime grade red copper," which is acid-cleaned of impurities. The entire connector then undergoes a deep cryogenic treatment at -240°C for 20 hours, which reduces internal stresses in the material. This improves conductivity and increases hardness, ensuring the contacts retain their shape.
The IeGO Schuko plug is made of solid Furukawa copper and rhodium-plated for oxidation protection. Finally, each plug is hand-polished. The housing is made of a special PVC manufactured in Japan by General.
