The iFi Audio hip-dac3 represents the third generation of iFi’s well-known portable USB DAC and headphone amplifier, created for demanding listeners who want to overcome the limitations of smartphones, tablets, and computers. Built-in audio circuits in these devices are often compromised, resulting in reduced clarity and impact. By connecting via USB, the hip-dac3 bypasses those internal components and replaces them with a more advanced DAC and amplification stage, delivering a noticeably more immersive and engaging sound for music, movies, podcasts, and everyday listening.
At its core, the hip-dac3 features refined circuitry and iFi’s True Native DAC design, allowing each digital format to be processed in its original form. It supports high-resolution audio up to 32-bit/384kHz PCM, DSD256, and full MQA decoding, making it compatible with a wide range of streaming services and local file libraries. Separate USB-C ports for audio data and charging help maintain consistent performance, even while the battery is being recharged, which is especially valuable for mobile use.
