DEVO - Duty Now for the Future - Mobile Fidelity 180g 45RPM 2LP

Duty Now for the Future, DEVO's second studio album from 1979, represents an important step in the development of the band's distinctive blend of new wave, post-punk, electronic experimentation and social satire. Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab now presents the album for the first time as a 45RPM double LP.

This numbered audiophile edition is sourced from the original master tapes and mastered by Krieg Wunderlich. The two 180g records are pressed at Fidelity Record Pressing and housed in a premium Stoughton gatefold jacket.

The mastering chain uses the original 1/4-inch / 15 IPS Dolby A analogue master transferred to DSD 256, followed by an analogue console and cutting lathe. Spreading the album across two records at 45RPM provides additional groove space and allows greater definition, dynamics and presence.

The guitars gain additional punch and texture while the album's precise arrangements and electronic elements can be heard with excellent clarity.
