The Chord Electronics Mojo 2 (2025) is a premium portable DAC and headphone amplifier for demanding music lovers who want exceptional digital audio performance both at home and on the move. The current version combines Chord's proprietary FPGA technology with lossless UHD DSP, high-resolution playback and powerful headphone amplification inside a compact aluminium chassis manufactured in the United Kingdom.
Mojo 2 can be connected to smartphones, tablets, laptops, computers, digital audio players and other digital sources. USB-C, Micro-USB, optical and coaxial connectivity make it equally suitable as a portable DAC or a high-performance desktop DAC.
The current Mojo 2 adds a 4.4 mm headphone output alongside the familiar 3.5 mm connection. Modern headphones and in-ear monitors fitted with a 4.4 mm plug can therefore be connected directly without an adapter.
The USB-C connection supports digital audio data as well as switchable USB-C charging. Volume, DSP and crossfeed settings can also be recalled according to the headphone output being used, making it easier to switch between different headphones or IEMs.
For technically minded listeners, it is important to note that the 4.4 mm connection is not a conventional differential balanced headphone amplifier output. Chord implements a four-wire single-ended architecture designed to work optimally with its Pulse Array DAC and output stage.
Rather than relying on a conventional off-the-shelf DAC chip, Chord Electronics builds Mojo 2 around a powerful custom-programmed FPGA architecture. This gives Chord extensive control over digital filtering, timing and signal processing.
One of Mojo 2's most distinctive features is its UHD DSP. This advanced digital tone control enables precise adjustment of low and high frequencies to suit headphones, recordings or personal preferences while preserving the integrity of the digital signal.
Multiple crossfeed settings can also create a more natural, speaker-like spatial presentation when listening through headphones.

What is different about the current Mojo 2 compared with the earlier version?
The current version adds features including a 4.4 mm headphone output, USB-C charging and memory functions for settings associated with the headphone outputs.
Is the Mojo 2's 4.4 mm output balanced?
Not in the conventional differential balanced-amplifier sense. Chord documents the 4.4 mm connection as a four-wire single-ended output designed around its Pulse Array DAC architecture.
