In the early years of their career, Bad Company maintained a breakneck pace: between 1974 and 1977, four albums were released and constantly supported by touring. After the recording sessions for “Burnin’ Sky”, the band members were exhausted and worn down – so they decided to take a break. Two years later, more precisely on March 17, 1979, Bad Company released their fifth album: “Desolation Angels” presented the band with renewed hard rock energy, while still remaining faithful to their characteristic sound.
The success of “Desolation Angels” showed that Bad Company had a devoted fan base and still had plenty to offer against the rapidly rising wave of young punk rock and new wave acts. The album reached number 10 in the UK and number 3 on the US album charts, while “Rock ’n’ Roll Fantasy” became one of the band’s best-selling singles. To this day, “Desolation Angels” has sold more than 2 million copies – achieving double platinum status!
To mark the 75th anniversary of Atlantic Records, Analogue Productions is now reissuing this chart classic.
