The Audio-Technica AT-VM95EN is a complete dual-magnet cartridge fitted with a 0.3 × 0.7 mil nude elliptical stylus. It is designed for turntables and headshells with a standard 1/2-inch mounting system and combines accurate groove tracing with straightforward installation.
Unlike the bonded elliptical stylus used by the AT-VM95E, the AT-VM95EN has a one-piece diamond mounted directly to the aluminium cantilever. This reduces the moving mass and allows the stylus to respond more precisely to fine information in the record groove.
The cartridge body has threaded inserts, allowing it to be attached to a compatible headshell with two screws and without separate mounting nuts. Two pairs of mounting screws, washers and a non-magnetic screwdriver are included.
Please note: this product is the complete AT-VM95EN cartridge. If you already own a VM95 cartridge body and only require the replacement stylus, you need the separately available AT-VMN95EN.
The AT-VM95EN uses a nude elliptical diamond with dimensions of 0.3 × 0.7 mil. With a nude stylus, the diamond itself is mounted directly to the cantilever. A bonded stylus uses a separate mounting shank between the diamond tip and cantilever.
The lower moving mass of the nude construction helps the stylus follow changes in the record groove accurately. The elliptical profile makes contact with a larger area of the groove wall than a basic conical stylus and can retrieve more high-frequency information from a correctly maintained record.
Correct cartridge alignment, tracking force and anti-skating remain essential. Even a high-quality stylus cannot perform as intended when the cartridge is incorrectly installed or adjusted.
The AT-VM95EN uses Audio-Technica’s VM stereo dual-magnet design. Two magnets are positioned to correspond with the left and right channels of the stereo record groove. The cartridge has an output voltage of 3.5 mV and is intended for connection to a conventional moving-magnet phono input.
Audio-Technica specifies a recommended load impedance of 47,000 ohms and a recommended load capacitance between 100 and 200 pF. The total capacitance includes the tonearm wiring, interconnect cable and phono preamplifier input.
The Audio-Technica AT-VM95E uses a bonded elliptical stylus, while the AT-VM95EN is fitted with a nude elliptical diamond. Because the diamond is mounted directly to the aluminium cantilever, the moving mass is lower.

The direct replacement stylus for the AT-VM95EN is the AT-VMN95EN. The cartridge body is also compatible with the other AT-VMN95 replacement styli, including conical, bonded elliptical, Microlinear and Shibata versions.
This interchangeable design makes it possible to replace a worn stylus or upgrade to another stylus profile while retaining the installed cartridge body.
The AT-VM95EN is suitable for turntables and removable headshells with a standard 1/2-inch mounting system. It is not a P-mount or T4P cartridge. Before ordering, check the mounting system of your tonearm or headshell.

The AT-VM95EN is a complete cartridge, including the VM95 cartridge body and AT-VMN95EN nude elliptical stylus. If you already have a compatible VM95 cartridge body, you can purchase the replacement stylus separately.
