Until now there was no lubricant oil specifically developed for record player bearings. This is understandable from a commercial point of view, as the potential volume is very small. But existing lubricating oils only meet the lubrication requirements to a certain extent to function properly. The Tonar Audio Turntable Oil is the first and last product specially developed for this application and produced on a laboratory scale.

What makes a turntable bearing lubricant so special?

While the record is playing, there is a mechanical connection/contact between the stylus and the bearing! The signal from an MC cartridge is amplified about 2000 times. So any sound generated in the bearing is amplified by the same amount!

Why does this oil excel?

This oil has extremely low friction due to a highly effective friction adjustment system, which avoids contact of the construction materials in the bearing. As a result, the oil dampens the noise of the bearing in a powerful way.

It goes without saying that the life of the bearing is also much longer. Thorough cleaning is recommended before you replace the bearing oil. We recommend replacing the oil every two years to further improve the result.
