For the design was worked with Spanish designer Eugeni Quitllet, a former right hand of Philippe Starck. And that immediately paid off. The use of luxury materials like aluminum and genuine leather and sleek and timeless design make the VK-1 was awarded in 2014 in Paris with the prestigious international award Prix Etoile de l'Observeur du Design.
The team that was responsible for the technical design made use of beautiful materials: a very light and extremely rigid titanium driver, powered by Neodymium magnets, in a case in high grade T6066 aircraft aluminum. The ear cups feature carefully calculated ventilation slots by Aëdle called airflow, making the bass is deeper and better. The feeling of being "submerged" in the music is reinforced.
The stainless steel headband and ear cups feature a hand-stitched 'skin' of brown or black lambskin, and the unique confirmation of the earcups to the headband allows for unprecedented fit almost any head.
Two different cables are supplied, one 2.4 meters for the home, and one of 1.2 meters to go. The shorter cable is a remote control built for iOS devices. Both cables are reinforced with aramid fibers and muted and feature gold-plated connectors.
