The SR225i headphone from Grado is a high-quality, open-air stereo headphone that's great for hi-fi applications. Based on the design of the SR125, the SR225i is lightweight and rugged, with an adjustable headband and cushioned earcups for long-lasting comfort. Features are the same as the SR125 but, this headphone has an increased air flow by 50% which is achieved through an improved rear metal screen and closer matched drivers. The metal screen increases airflow, and the drivers are matched within 0.05dB to provide an enlarged soundstage and low colouration.

The Grado SR225i headphones have the traditional basic flexible leather Grado headband style and use simple metal height adjusters to connect the earpieces to the headband, thus allowing for up-and-down sizing adjustment plus full 360-degree earcup rotation. This feature is ideal for one ear monitoring or for laying flat for storage and travelling.

The Grado SR225i's are well-built -- as with all Grado Labs products -- and utilize speaker drivers perfectly matched to 0.05db with voice coils made of Grado's ultra-high purity, long-crystal, oxygen-free copper. The Grado SR225i is a fully open back earpiece design, which provides an open character to the audio reproduction. The downside is that those around you will also be able to hear sound that leaks from the open earcups and you will be able to hear noise around, so these headphones are ideal for home listening.

The Grado SR225i's copper cable is terminated with a 6.35mm (1/4 inch) jack plug - so if you want to plug into a mini jack (3.5mm or 1/8 inch) connector then you will need an adapter- and have a straight cord that attaches to both earpieces.

The Grado SR225i's are very efficient & can be driven by the output of most portable players and inexpensive home equipment. A good quality dedicated headphone amplifier will help improve the overall control and detail of the highs, add some heft and authority to the bottom end. A headphone amp will also provide a slightly deeper, more expansive dimension to the SR225i's soundstage image.
